About the author
After graduating Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University, Donna Hurlock earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and did her internship and residency at the Washington Hospital Center.
She was board-certified as an obstetrician/gynecologist in 1985 and practiced obstetrics and gynecology in a group practice. In 1988, she opened her practice, "Donna G Hurlock, MD, PC," later renamed the Women's Hormone Center of Northern Virginia, PC, focusing on gynecology and hormonal health, including managing thyroid hormone replacement for thousands of women.
During her medical career, Dr. Hurlock was published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, newspapers, magazines, websites, television, and radio outlets, and she was a featured expert in several books.
Dr. Hurlock has been a NAMS (North American Menopause Society) Certified Menopause Practitioner since 2000. She is a member of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons and the Florida Medical Association, and a former member of the Board of Advisors for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in Washington, DC.
Dr. Hurlock retired from private medical practice in 2021 and now lives in Florida. She continues to pursue her passions for patient advocacy, boating, civic volunteering, and living in the Florida lifestyle.
