Hunters:

Set in pre Civil War America two men stalk the American frontier hunting the monsters and mysteries of American history. One man is a gunslinger that comes from a long line of monster hunters and the other is a very unusual priest. Together they take on everything from demons to vampires, hiding in plain sight and becoming whoever they need to be in order to get the Job done.

In pre-Civil War America a gunslinger and a priest stalk from coast to coast fighting monsters, exorcising demons, and secretly shaping the history of the nation. Posing as Union soldiers in the Texas territory, Tom and Weston takes possession of an ancient artifact that destroyed an entire town only to be ordered into a nearby fort by the approach of the Mexican army. Once the fort is surrounded they discover that it has been raised from the dead by a demon that possessed the general. With only a small detachment of soldiers to defend the fort and the artifact Tom and Weston must withstand a relentless siege of undead, and escape with the artifact without being eaten alive.

Deacon Heller began his writing career as a journalist for the college paper at Miskatonic University, from which he eventually graduated with a degree in Occult Sciences. He has held a wide variety of jobs (journalist, carpenter, salesman, welder, martial arts instructor, and private security advisor) before becoming a full time writer. Since then Deacon has authored several short stories, novellas and books. When he's not writing Deacon splits his time between researching material for stories and working with a local paranormal investigation team. Though he likes to travel, Deacon now lives in San Diego and follows his inspirations around the greater downtown area and writing his stories from the second floor of his favorite Irish pub.
