Then at a mining accident he finally came face to face with Doc. And that's when his whole life changed. Doc tells him to come and help him save a man's life, they can shoot each other later. Later never comes as Jeremy becomes Doc's medical assistant. Together they save an old man's life who wanted Doc to kill him in a fake gun battle; help a Brother whose Poor Farm was attacked, and save the life of an Indian Chief. Neal Pointer, the artist and photographer, will add a new dimension in Doc's life as they worry over the disappearance of the Indian's culture and history as more Indians are placed into reservations. And then there's the Indian maiden, Sinopa. This woman had saved his mother's life and she turns out to be solid fortress for Doc in a sea of uncertainty and hate towards the Indians. Beautiful and strong, courageous and caring, she is indeed the daughter of a Chief. Can she turn Doc's life around? Will they together find a safe haven and their salvation? The journey home will be long and difficult, but the Doc Whitfield gang will not let him fail. If need be they will ride again to Doc's rescue. It's time for Doc to find his home.

About The Author

A prolific writer, Jeff has authored 16novels, including contemporary, western, children, and science fiction novels, as well as a collection of Christmas short stories. He seeks unique story locations and uses factual sites, people, and events to enhance his fiction. Jeff enjoys writing in five genres. When asked if it is hard to switch back and forth between the genres, he said, "I find it very refreshing except (like a few months ago) when I was working on the edit of my sixth and final Hunt Series western novel, plus being in the middle of writing a contemporary novel, the interviewer asked questions about my Christmas short story collection. That got my head spinning, but normally, by the time I've finished one book, I'm ready to switch genres and work on another." Jeff grew up in the small town of Logan, Ohio, where some of his stories alluded to. Before becoming a full-time novelist, he was a research librarian, a college library director, and a college professor. He lives and writes in Murrieta, California, one hour north of San Diego. His office has three Apple computers, an Amazon Kindle, an Apple iPad, an iPhone, an eclectic collection of funky stuffed animals, a 5,000-book library, and no television.
