Honest to God

If we can't be honest with ourselves, how can we be honest with God. HONEST TO GOD is a clear unvarnished look at the realities of life. Years of religious training and indoctrination can and usually do distort both the believer and unbeliever's concept of God as He truly is. It is a fact that most people understand imagery and symbol better than doctrine and dogma. This book is intended to wipe the fog from the window that we look through to see God.... clearly, as He longs to be seen.

It is too often taught that good things always come to the faithful, leaving those who stumble or are knocked from their feet to feel as if they are some how unworthy. Too many of those who claim faith in Christ struggle along the road of life, eyes cast down, a sigh of despair and defeat silently emanating from their hearts as they wonder if they will ever measure up. The breathless mercy of God poured out upon us in grace says yes. The question we are left with is.... will we believe it? The reader will experience through the life stories of others what in some way is true in his or her life. May they experience grace and breathless mercy, causing them to experience true transparency before God and man without fear.

A pastor and speaker for 25 years, an accomplished musician, worship leader, special education advocate and freelance author John now writes from his life's experiences. The highs and lows of life find their way into his writing, as do the hopes and fears felt by people everywhere. Life is what happens to each of us, and is lived far from the mystical platitudes that persuade us that we get what we deserve. The author firmly believes that we get what we don't deserve..... mercy, and we have a responsibility to share it with others.
