About the author

Debbie has been teaching in many capacities over the course of her career, both in the classroom and within a corporate setting. She has always found herself writing; there was poetry as a young girl, journaling continuously. A few years ago she started a blog to encourage and uplift those around her. Get to know her better at www.heartuplifted.com. As an author she likes her reader to be able to dig deeper. Families who share in her book Heart Uplifted may find hope. Subtly it challenges one to change perspective. The ultimate goal is to engage children in conversation to help them heal after loss or while they are grieving life changes. The enchanting illustrations set the stage for discovery within its pages. Sometimes canceling out the noise of the world and pausing for a moment to realign our perspective with truth can keep our heart uplifted.

Description

Heart Uplifted has treasured bits and pieces abundantly found within the pages. Ultimately, what is created from a collective mess is completely reimagined into something new and exciting. This parallel is indeed all that God does for each of us if we surrender and are willing to walk where He leads. From broken bits, we are made new and whole in His love. Come meet Ellie. Her name means "beloved," and each of us are His beloved. This symbolism is for each of us, because at one time or another, we each can be in Ellie's situation, having to deal with one kind of loss or another, how we see ourselves and others, how we express the layers of our emotions, how we grow in our faith, and learning to trust God as we move forward during our grief journey. This children's book developed into one of discovery set in an enchanting forest. It introduces biblical concepts and delightful woodland animals that interact with Ellie, the star woodland fairy. The characters each have a particular loss and are offered special kindness and gentle support from their fairy friend as they learn to heal together. There were sculptures and rustic props that were created and used to inspire the illustrations in the book. It has a captivating unique design, and within the pages, many surprises can be discovered. Join in on this meaningful journey.
