Description

The songs in this book are designed for preschool, primary, and early elementary grade learners. They were selected based primarily on requests from teachers and parents. We also considered rankings on iTunes, view counts from our YouTube channel, streaming statistics from music services such as Spotify and sales on the Songs for Teaching website. Each song is arranged in lead sheet format. This is a form of musical notation that specifies the essential elements of a song: the melody, lyrics, and harmony. The melody is written in music notation, the lyric is written as text below the staff, and the harmony is specified with chord symbols above the staff. You don't need to play an instrument to enjoy this book. You can sing without accompaniment, or sing along with the recordings. Also, each song is followed by a section with suggested activities – valuable for encouraging active participation.
