Overview

GRIEVE UPWARDS – One Man’s Journey Through the Valley is mainly autobiographical. This book contains valuable keys on pre-grieving, navigating the journey with a God who promises healing, guarantees death and illustrates how nothing takes our all-knowing Father by surprise. Rather than submissively allowing grief to 'happen' to us, the author inspires people to take charge of their grief journey through wisdom, understanding and helpful relationships.

GRIEVE UPWARDS deals with questions often wrestled with during grief. How do males grieve different to females? How do you avoid falling into temptation? How can you find love second time around? When are you ready for a new relationship? How can you trust God again? It concludes with the encouragement to begin writing the next chapter of your life.

About the author

At the age of eighteen, David’s father, a WW2 fighter pilot, died in his early fifties from a heart attack. Since then he has experienced seven further seasons of grief, two of which concerned his first wife and eldest daughter. While studying agriculture, his life was radically interrupted at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1968. In 1980 he left the agricultural scene in pursuit of his growing passion, people. In Christian Outreach Centre (now International Network of Churches), David became a Senior Pastor, Church planter, District Chairman, State Chairman and National Executive member, spanning thirty-eight years. He currently mentors Church pastors and their leadership teams; is a BWC personal management coach and grief coach. He conducts Safe Church workshops, and is a volunteer pastor at Empower Church, in Castle Hill, Sydney. He lives in the nearby suburb of Kellyville Ridge with his beautiful wife Tuula.
