Description

"One of the best books I have ever read that intelligently articulates the question of God's existence." San Francisco Book Review "Kept me glued to every page. I needed to read everything else this author has written." The Book Commentary Have you ever sat in church and quietly wondered whether the creation story in Genesis and everything modern science teaches us about the universe can both be true at the same time? Have you wrestled with questions about evolution, the historical reality of Moses and the Exodus, or the deeper meaning hidden within the earliest pages of the Bible, and found that most books either dismiss your science or dismiss your faith? God's Existence: Deeper Thoughts for Greater Insights was written for you. In this deeply researched and remarkably accessible work, historian and author Gary R. Lindberg brings a lifetime of intellectual curiosity and genuine faith to the questions that millions of Christians carry privately but rarely hear addressed honestly: Does evolution contradict the Bible, or is it another instrument God used in the miracle of Creation? What should Genesis truly tell us about how the world began, and what have we been misreading? Was Moses a real historical figure? Did the Exodus actually happen, and if so, when? Why was the Old Testament written, and what is its deeper purpose beyond what we were taught? Drawing on his training as a Berkeley-educated historian and his lifelong engagement with both scripture and science, Lindberg approaches each of these questions not with easy answers, but with the intellectual honesty and the genuine faith that the questions deserve. He presents multiple perspectives, weighs the evidence carefully, and invites the reader into a conversation rather than a conclusion. The result is a book that does not ask you to choose between your faith and your intellect. It shows you, with careful reasoning and deep respect for both, why you never had to. Rated 4.7 out of 5 stars by readers who have called it "on fire to discover new truths to age-old questions." If you have been carrying these questions for years, this is the book that will finally give them the serious, honest, and faithful treatment they deserve.
