God of the Poets

Overview
Maybe it started with driving the motorcycle through a barbed wire fence at 60 mph. Or maybe it was the not-so-casual fling with the preacher’s wife. Or perhaps it was when, nineteen years old and hitchhiking the whole wide nation, in a glimpse of the Gods, his spirit expanded to all the infinite edges of a Wyoming roadside. Whatever the cause, Bill Mason’s life was driven by Art: Art that nearly killed him, Art that was his soul. It can be dangerous to be poet/novelist. It is a good story that defines love as the life-long affection of a soul mate, the belief of a child, the passions of the flesh, and, the blessing of the Gods. And, oh yes. God of the Poets reveals the purpose of your life, dear reader.

About the author
Robert Nichols on his writing: I was fifteen when I determined I would be a writer. In the ensuing decades, my commitment to the art and craft of written communication has not lessened. Though practical considerations (like making a living) have laid claim to large portions of my time and energy, at the heart of all my endeavors I have remained steadfast to the calling of a poet. Regardless of literary genre, my words are driven by a soul-deep intent to fully experience the challenge and fascination of life and, most significantly, to communicate what is gleaned from this grand encounter. When I write a poem, a novel, an essay, a grocery list, or an e-mail to my insurance agent, I do so as one whose life is committed to a principle of writing with clarity, wit, and compassion. The goal of my art: to intimately express the Universal.
