Gibble the Goblin Has a Problem
Overview
In a fancifully fun world, we meet Gibble, a mostly non-verbal Goblin that has trouble expressing his wants and needs to other people explicitly. This, of course, frustrates and bebothers others which in turn causes Gibble himself to become distraught and dejected. But then who should whizz over, flying by in the sky? Why a fabulous young wizard whose name was just Gizzard and he knew just what to do. He taught our young, green friend the magic word and how to use it. This book is easy to read and fun to listen to and the message isn't half bad either, so let's check out Gibble and his problem...or more importantly; the solution.

Description
Gibble the Goblin has a problem, but it is a problem that many children share; how to ask nicely for things. Now, the topic of manners and etiquette in children's literature may seem trite, vapid, or over done - but really when you look at it - it's actually quite profound. Research has shown that the pleasure centers of our brains respond when some one is nice and/or polite to us and alternatively, the pain receptors react when someone is mean and/or rude to us. Learning manners is really about respect and common human decency which is a hugely important lesson to absorb at any age, but especially for young minds. Learning to to treat others -regardless of ethnicity, race, or religion- with respect and dignity is one of the great pillars of being a decent person and that all starts with "please" and "thank you".
