About the author
Kathryn  Hartwell,  a  realtor  in  rural  Alberta,  soon   came  to  realize  residents  of  small  towns  were  hungry(!)  for  local  information,  humour  and  human  interest   stories. So together with her fellow realtor & designer Aleesha Gosling,  she launched  a  modest  monthly  magazine  to  meet  that  need.  Over  the  years  The  Newsy   Neighbour  has  grown  into  one  of  the  largest  magazines  of  its  kind  in  the  West.  One  of  its  most  popular   features,  the  I  Am  A...  recipe  series,  provided  the  basis  for  this  cookbook. Ms. Hartwell is currently working on the next installment in the "I Am A..." healthful cookbook series.
