Overview
Sibling rivalry, a cranky little boy, and a frustrated mother could be any parent's typical day. "Flying With Kindness", is a deeply moving story and travel adventure to the Grand Canyon. It's a book about a boy name Basil and the normal sibling rivalry with his younger sister, Ava. Basil has a strong personality. In addition, kindness doesn't seem to come natural for Basil. Basil's parents are trying to teach him the importance of kindness. He thinks kindness is too much work. By chance, Basil's family meets an old lady, an encounter which set up a chain of events and teachable moments in kindness.
Description
This is a great read aloud for parents needing to help their children learn to get along and share. This book is especially for young toddlers and written for ages 2-8 years old. Your child will want you to read this over and over again. "Flying With Kindness offers children a valuable lesson in kind-heartedness and shows how one act of kindness can lead to another, and the positive effect on the recipient. It's a beautiful, yet simply written story with eye-catching illustrations and, in a rare feat, the author has conveyed the overarching message in an entertaining but non-preachy manner. In a world much in need of a little compassion and understanding, this children's book is a breath of fresh air." – Scott Medbury, Author of the America Falls Series, and father of four.
About the author
Eric Simmons is a first time author of children's books. Although writing haven't become natural for me, I was inspired years ago. I took some writing classes in NYC Learning Annex. I finally decided after having my son. I enjoyed seeing his reaction of excitement after reading to him. I didn't find enough books out there that talked about kindness for children so I decided to tap into that market. I grew up in New York City. Currently I'm a Nevada resident. I went to school at Southern Illinois University were I pursued a career as a commercial pilot. Although I enjoy flying, writing is my second passion. Many would describe me as a workaholic.
