About the author
Christopher D. Edmonds ("Captain Chryso") was a yacht captain for over twenty years. He took guests on private yacht tours for many years. He loved treating people to the sights and sounds of Chicago. It was always one of his favorite things to do. Every guest thanked him for sharing the city with them.
His high sea adventures extended well beyond the shores of Lake Michigan. Chris captained sailboats in faraway places like Belize, St. Barts, and the British Virgin Islands. He treated his family and friends to wild voyages. Born near Boston, his love for the seas began on the New England coast, where he learned how to be a sailor.
Captain Chryso was also an attorney, practicing family law for over forty years. He even volunteered to represent children as a Guardian ad Litem ("GAL") for more than twenty years. A GAL is an attorney appointed by the family court to investigate a case and make recommendations to the court based on the best interests of the child.
He felt deeply about kids and their future. His personal mantra was: "Children are precious cargo and the ones who will be inheriting the world. Let's give them a chance to make it better!"
Captain Chryso was always the first in line to dive fearlessly into the world. He was driven by an undying curiosity and blessed with creativity, showing a relentless love for family and friends.
This book was originally a passion project for his wife, Jan, children, grand- children, and family members as well as the kids he always advocated for. His family will forever remember him as the "Renaissance Man." We share his sweet thoughts and awesome sketches in the hopes of keeping his spirit alive. With much love to Captain Chryso, we dedicate his stories and mischievous tales to you and your family.
