Overview
This is a fun and engaging book that gives kids an opportunity to move around with limited space, in funny ways that will make them laugh and that will encourage them to turn off the electronics and have some fun with the adults in the room.
Description
Our generation of children are very good at typing and computer technology and video game playing but I want them to get back to playing with adults and each other in a real time way. This book was written and illustrated with the thought in my mind of getting kids to practice standing on one foot, hopping with two feet or one foot. It's a book that will encourage the kids to stand with their eyes closed and to try to skip or gallop. These are skills that our "little's" need to progress in school and in life. As a Physical Therapist Assistant for the last 18 years, I work with Skilled Physical Therapist's that design programs for the "little's" that need extra help with these skills and I am always looking for new ways to entice them to try. I have looked for a book like this but couldn't find one that I really liked so this is my opportunity to share my book about "Exercising with the Animals" with you
About the author
I have been a wife and mother and grandmother and I have enjoyed it all. I have also been a Physical Therapist Assistant for the past 18 years working with adults and children in a rural setting. During Covid 19 my role changed and I became a screener and greeter due to the pandemic making it difficult for patient's to come to the clinic and the schools being closed. The pandemic gave me time to pursue interests that I didn't have time to pursue before and I started to draw. The pictures began to accumulate and my husband suggested that I put them together and write a children's book. This book has been an unknown dream of mine and now I have the chance to share with kiddo's everywhere. Thank you to everyone that inspired me to write and draw this book including the wonderful "little's" that I have the honor of progressing in therapy and that challenge me to create playful ways to "move".
