About the author


Dr. Bettner has been in private practice for over 40 years working with individuals, couples, teenagers, children, social workers, educators, counselors and therapists. She is currently the Master trainer for Wise Edu Plus in Shanghai, China.

She has given talks, courses, and workshops for thousands of professionals, parent groups, educational in-service training, couples and the workplace. She trains graduate students to facilitate parent education groups in schools and communities, as well as advanced training in Adlerian psychology. She was the Director of the Family Education Center for the Springfield School District in Springfield, PA for 25 years.

Dr. Bettner was on the faculty of the International Committee of Adlerian Summer Schools and Institute (ICASSI) for over 30 years. She was a contributing Column Editor for the Journal of Individual Psychology from 1999-2016.

She is a member of the American Counseling Association, The North American Society of Adlerian Psychology and The International Association of Marriage and Family Counseling.
