Description

A faith-based resource rooted in Christian discipleship, addiction recovery, and pastoral guidance, "Enabling" speaks directly to families, churches, and individuals who are trying to help loved ones caught in destructive patterns but feel confused about where love ends and enabling begins. Readers confront the common misunderstanding that love means rescuing, protecting from consequences, or keeping the peace at all costs. They learn how truth—not comfort—is what brings real freedom, and that enabling is not kindness but a barrier to repentance and growth. By removing consequences or shielding someone from responsibility, well-meaning people can unknowingly prolong bondage and interfere with God's redemptive work. Perfect for parents, spouses, grandparents, and family members who feel worn down from repeatedly rescuing a loved one dealing with, "Enabling" provides practical, scriptural tools to help readers set godly boundaries, speak truth in love, and trust God with the outcome so that loved ones can experience real and lasting freedom in Jesus Christ.

About The Author

Pastor Chuck Chavis is an author, pastor, teacher, and recovery minister who has devoted his life to helping others find lasting freedom through Jesus Christ. Before coming to Christ, Chuck spent 15 years trapped in addiction, crime, and repeated incarceration. During that time, he lived a destructive life full of broken relationships and hopelessness. While incarcerated, Chuck surrendered his life Jesus Christ. It was there—behind bars—that God called him to preach. This is where God started transforming his life. Since 2010, Chuck has devoted his life to reaching the broken, the addicted, and the ones society often gives up on. He currently serves as Senior Pastor through Lifeline Ministries, where he continues to teach, write, and disciple others in jails, recovery homes, and communities; sharing the gospel and teaching biblical truth with clarity and boldness. Chuck writes from both personal experience and pastoral conviction. His passion is to help people find real freedom in Jesus Christ and to equip families and churches to respond biblically to the truth of God's words. Through his writing and ministry, Chuck proclaims a clear message: no one is too far gone, and true freedom is found only in Christ.
