About the author
The Rev. Dr. Lauren Speeth is an educational and Christian media expert with a lifetime of high-tech experience, from the Silicon Valley startup to Fortune 50 levels, and from nonprofits to orchestra halls to houses of worship. Speeth earned her PhD (Honors) in Innovative Urban Leadership and a Doctorate in Ministry (Raymond J. Bakke Scholar) from Bakke Graduate University and completed a rigorous interfaith chaplaincy training at Stanford Hospital, one of the nation's top ten hospitals. She also holds an Advanced Computer Security Credential from Stanford, where she also studied philanthropy. Her technical background coupled with her religious calling, training and experience have led her naturally to blaze a trail in the world of eMinistry. Dr. Speeth has years of experience teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels on a variety of subjects in management, statistics, and computer science, and has lectured worldwide - including Australia, India, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East - on social entrepreneurship. She is a Life Member of The Carter Center's Board of Councilors, a Regent Emeritus of Saint Mary's College, and an External Advisor to the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality, where she was an architect/programmer of its first website, co-orchestrating the Center's launch with a Concert for Hope, which she also filmed. Speeth, who has dedicated her educational media / storytelling efforts to fostering hope, has served on panels as a multimedia expert and as a judge for thousands of student films and other online content. She and her team enjoy creating fresh tools to equip ministers, social entrepreneurs, and aspiring change agents young and old.
