by D. Allen Goodman

Overview
This memoir captures the military experience of a young soldier entering the Army at the end of the Cold War in Europe and a hasty deployment to Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Storm. While the story chronicles actual historical events from 1989 to 1991, it shamelessly depicts the immaturity of young soldiers in peacetime and on the battlefield.

About the author
D. Allen Goodman’s first publication was a price-guide for Amateur Radio enthusiasts which he self-published in 2001 & 2003. A native of Southern California, Goodman left home days after his 18th birthday for the promise of excitement and a future career as a soldier; however, he got much more than his Army recruiter could have ever promised. Armed with an M16, M203 grenade launcher and a Pentax K1000, Goodman vividly captured the historical sequence of events of his artillery Battalion during Desert Storm. In his memoir “eXecute”, he shares experiences of entering the service as a private in basic training, then assigned to Germany during the fall of communism, culminating with a brief desert war that changed the direction of his life. The memoir, “eXecute”, was first penned in 1995 and remains in the novice prose of the young author. By profession, Goodman is an operations management professional and lives in San Dimas, California with his wife and three children. He is a Past Master of San Dimas Masonic Lodge #428 F&AM.
