Overview

Saige, Shellian, and the remnant of the scouting team were finally able to contact the remaining cities hidden in the desolation. Letting these cities know the reasons for a number of the cities that had gone dark, silent, and leaving not a clue behind as to why. With the distances between cities great, these silences had gone unanswered, undiscovered. Finally their time of isolation was at an end. Yet with the desperation that lay upon all of them, they were given the task of bringing to an end this undeclared war, a war that the primitives had brought upon them. But they were only ten. How could ten individuals defeat the thousands of warriors that had banded together as the alliance? An impossible task for sure, yet if they did not find a way, then their way of life, their very lives, their cities were at stake. And from their true history, discovered in the archives at the Alpha, they, and the cities, could easily be the last of their kind. So what choice did they have – find a solution or die. Yet, how to go about it, how did one win against such an overwhelming enemy? They had to admit that they had no answers, no solutions, and as is always the case, no time. In the end, and with the impending threat of annihilation, they were out of ideas, out of plans, and with no true direction, they were desperate to survive.

Description

So few of them, just ten really, but their people, all of the remaining cities, were depending on what they did here at the Alpha. Could they, would they, come up with a solution in time, or would each city fall one at a time until they were no more? After all, this was a very valid question and one that needed to be asked - and once asked, answers found. When their ancestors had originally set up the cities it had never been from the idea of defense and support. The planned defense was the isolation and the hiding of the cities in the desolation where the primitives would not go. After all, there was no reason to go there, since nothing lived or could survive in the desolation. Again originally, their ancestors had expected to be rescued in short order, and so the type of defenses that they now needed were never considered, never planned, never built, and until the discovery of the cities by the primitives, never an issue. Looking through the large databases at the Alpha showed just how much knowledge they had lost or forgotten over time - time that could have been used to better defend. And with little to no travel between the cities, again to reduce the chance of being discovered, this had isolated them even further. In some ways Saige was surprised that the communications circuits had remained, but now was quite thankful that they had. Because it was the only way left to make contact, to alert, to warn. Had the circuits failed, then no city would have been aware of what had happened to their sister cities, and in the end all would have perished without a whimper, making the silence complete. In many ways it was funny how life was. Here in the midst of loss, destruction, and death, life continued to flourish. Since their time on the run, and with the discovery of the Alpha, children had been born. Yet, in the end would they too become no more, innocence destroyed, leaving all of them looking for a way out of this darkness that surrounded them? Would they avoid death, and find a way out, or would it be just a dream that had an unhappy ending? One thing for sure, they were desperate to survive.

Book 2 in the Survival series, it picks up exactly where book 1 ends. It continues the adventure of the remnants of the scouting unit as they face impossible odds. Plus what they are learning about their true history is changing all that they thought was true and accurate. yet, what they are being shown cannot be denied.

About the author

Throughout my life I had a desire to write, but time after time circumstances continued to get in the way of such a career. When I was in my 30's I married into an AMF (Already Made Family), thus taking on a heavy responsibility right from the beginning. I am happy to say that the woman that I married and I are still quite in love with each other, and do not see this changing anytime, period.

My strongest genre is Sci-Fi, although this first offering is Contemporary Woman's Christian Fiction. This first book is a standalone story, while the second book, that I released on June 20, 2012, is the first in a series. The name of this book is, "Time of Isolation", book 1 in the Survival Series, with book 2 Desperate to Survive, released in November 2012 - all Science Fiction. A third, possibly available in 2014 that's within the Survival Universe is complete and presently being edited. There is a second series for which 3 are written and are presently being edited. All are in the Discovery series and are titled, The Ones Before, Discovery, and An Ancient Fire. I have plans on releasing all three this year, 2014. I have plenty of writing and editing still ahead of me. As it stands at this moment, I have plenty of ideas and stories to keep me busy for the next several years, and as any author will tell you, I hope that these stories will both entertain, and maybe even make you think a little.
