About The Author

Judge Alan King, retired, is an attorney and served as a probate judge in Jefferson County, Alabama—the largest county in Alabama—for more than nineteen years. He began practicing law in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1982, was first elected as a judge in 2000, and served up until his retirement in 2020. Judge King was married for thirty-two years to his wife, Karen, who was killed in a hit-and-run in Denver, Colorado, on Thanksgiving night in 2018 while she, Alan, and their daughter were walking across an intersection. The driver of an automobile ran a red light and struck the three of them. Alan and his daughter were both severely injured and spent months in physical rehabilitation. The driver was never identified or apprehended. Alan decided to write this book to hopefully assist others in the dating and relationship process with some issues to consider as we search for love and happiness
