Description

These readings from the Bible have been compiled with the aim of providing a source of daily encouragement and guidance for Christians. The extracts have been specially chosen to give inspiration – and at times challenge – to believers. The readings are accompanied by extracts from hymns, which can be used to make a personal response to God and his word. The Bible portions and hymns in this book could perhaps best be complemented by following a plan of reading through the whole Bible. In this way a personal devotional time with God becomes a daily opportunity to ‘seek [the LORD’s] face’ (Psalm 27:8) as God speaks to us about our lives ‘face to face, as a man speaks with his friend’ (Exodus 33:11).

About the author

Martin Manser has been a professional reference book editor since 1980. He has compiled or edited more than 200 reference books, particularly, English-language dictionaries, Bible-reference titles and business-skills books. He is also a Language Trainer and Consultant with national and international companies and organizations. He is a visiting lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University, a tutor with London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London and tutor at Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg Center for Key Qualifications, Germany.
