About The Author

Lynda Gordon is a philanthropist, women & children's advocate, animal rescuer and now a children's book author. In her own words: "Losing my husband, my soulmate and partner left me not only alone, but scared and unclear about my future. As I picked up the pieces of my life, I knew I had to continue the work he and I had done for over 40 years. One day as I sat watching a rescue cat I had adopted, I had a crazy idea to write a series of fun, but educational books about him. See Coogie was most likely born on the exact day my late husband passed - yes, a friend rescued him from his apartment dumpster and brought him to me - the vet confirmed his approximate birthdate - and I knew I had to keep him. He helped me in my grief, and he is now helping me raise funds to rescue more animals like him - which is exactly what my late husband would've done". Coogie the Dumpster Cat will live the life and career of Dr. Michael Gordon, an extraordinary cardiologist who invented the first cardio-pulmonary patient simulator in medical education. He was also one of the first to recognize the potential of our first responders, especially paramedics, to treat patients in the field contributing to a major reduction in mortality. Coogie was his childhood imaginary friend and became his moniker in adulthood. Coogie will live his life but in a feline world having adventures that will not only make kids smile, but impart a life lesson in each book. Lynda lives in Miami Florida with her rescue cats, Coogie and Casey and continues her charity work while writing new adventures for the book series.
