About The Author

Lynda Gordon, a philanthropist, advocate for women and children, animal rescuer, and now a children’s book author, shares her inspiring journey. In 2017, after losing her husband, she grappled with profound grief and uncertainty about her future. Amidst the chaos, a miraculous event unfolded. A friend discovered a tiny black, blue-eyed kitten in his dumpster and brought it to her. Taking it to the vet, she was surprised to learn that the kitten was born on July 7, just eight weeks before her husband’s passing. This coincidence struck her as a sign from Michael, urging her to find solace and healing in this unexpected companion.

Coogie, as she named the kitten, embodies the spirit of her husband’s imaginary childhood friend. Inspired by Michael’s remarkable life, Lynda envisioned Coogie living the life and career of Dr. Michael Gordon, an extraordinary cardiologist who pioneered the development of the first cardio-pulmonary patient simulator in medical education. Dr. Gordon was a remarkable man with a compassionate heart, and a significant portion of their philanthropic efforts was dedicated to providing scholarships to those in need.

Coogie’s journey will take you into a world of feline adventures, where he will bring joy and laughter to children while imparting valuable life lessons in each book. Lynda, residing in Miami, Florida, with her rescue cats Coogie and Casey, continues her charitable work and dedicates her time to writing new chapters in the beloved book series.
