Description

Color Me Beautiful and Other Poems about Life, Love and Dreams is a rich collection of poetry about life as seen through the eyes of a young hopeful coming-of-age in the inner city. Divided into five chapters, you will meet a Detroit born-and-bred artist-poet and first time author. Color Me Beautiful has fun, catchy poems that readers would enjoy, namely Designer Diva, Stargazing, Rap Me A Serenade and more. Appealing to young women of color, many poems are written as upbeat, spoken word pieces, to mirror the nuances of today’s hip-hop rhythms and grooves. Color Me Beautiful includes personal reflections about life, love, hopes and aspirations that the author has for herself as a young woman, and her community at-large. About the author

Meah K. Tweh (1985-) was born in Detroit, Michigan, in a two-parent household. Growing up as the daughter of a Liberian immigrant, and a Pittsburgh native, Meah had a colorful upbringing as she learned about her rich African ancestry. Growing up with an abundance of artistic inspiration around her, she has grown into a creative spirit. Meah is an alumna of Detroit's award-wining Renaissance High School (2003) and is also an alumnus of Michigan's only urban public research university, Wayne State University (2008). Her life experiences and her participation in various creative endeavors would ultimately lead her to publish her first full-length volume of poetry entitled "Color Me Beautiful and Other Poems about Life, Love and Dreams", and the mini-book teaser "Designer Diva" available on Amazon.com's Kindle. Meah is an inquiring mind and is currently a candidate for a Masters degree in Art Education facilitating art activities across the United States and abroad. Her artwork and poems are featured in exhibitions within the city of Detroit and across the United States.
