Christopher and the Swordsman

How the Christ-Child and the Music Was Saved

By Mark J. Welch

Overview

We all know the Christmas story, the timeless story about Mary and Joseph and the birth of baby Jesus in a manger under a bright star, while the stable animals looked on and the wise men came bearing gifts. Shepherds came to worship after a visit from a choir of angels telling them of the birth of The Savior. The world would never be the same, but did it really go that smoothly? What if someone or something had tried to prevent that awesome event? This is a story of what almost would have been if there had not been someone there to witness and protect that which had been declared by the prophets long ago. This story is about a boy, a girl, a man with a sword who does not want to use it, the power of love, faith, and a very special weapon that can restore or remove that which is Devine.

Description

There is a power in music that transcends entertainment. Music alone can create, enhance, and accentuate strong emotions, speaking to us in a way that mere words are incapable of expressing. Music can make us laugh, cry, dance, or march to battle and death. Music is Devine, enabling us to commune with the Devine. Music has Power and anything that has power can be used to do harm or to do good.

This is a story about good and evil, about a war that began centuries ago and continues to this day.  This is a story of faith, strength of character and courage, doing what's right, not what's easy.  This is a story about friendship, promises made, prophesies fulfilled and balance returned through the use of that which is sacred, by a boy, a girl, and a man with a sword, in the little town of Bethlehem, under a bright star, one magical night a long time ago.

For in the end, there is no such thing as luck. There is only His plan and the decision to embrace it or not.
