At a time where the three most important things to her were life, love and spirit. My name is Vermelle (Candy)Perry I'm the 8th child (the baby) of the family, the story that was told my oldest sister Carolyn ran away from home when she knew I was coming, henceforth when she came home mama had me on the sofa with the neighbors baby, mama said pick out your sister, she picked me up and named me Candy in that moment and needless to say from day one to present she has been not only my big sister friend, but my second mom . I was born and raised in Washington DC, attended DC public schools, ironically, I lived with my sister Carolyn my last year of school where i graduated Married very young, continued education, raising children. The world wind was happening. Ronald and I have been married for 40 plus years, we have been blessed with 4 children who are now grown and between them have given us 10 grandchildren & counting. The marriage thing, Beautiful in all its glory, we have been through the highs, lows, ups, downs, the struggle love, health struggles, but always back to Never wanna live without you. My love for writing came early on in life, it was an assignment in creative writing class, the instructor gave the assignment to write your autobiography, I picked up the pen and to my surprise my little assignment was up for publishing, I denied the offer (scared I guess , unsure of myself, I don't know. To fast forward I continue my love of writing in song. My husband and I recorded our first album in 1990, where we wrote and produced the entire project, under Focus Music Ministry now days we are writing and producing under Ron, Candy and Perry Generation with several gospel and love songs recordings. This book of poems reaches the depths of my love for the power of the pen in creative writings. Happy Reading!! Be blessed!!
