About the author
Shanaya Fastje launched her career as a published author at the age of eight and became an inspirational speaker at the age of ten when she entered the first of her popular Mystery School series in a national book-writing contest and was selected “extraordinary book” from over 3,000 entrants. Two more volumes followed before she turned her attention to developing a hugely successful presidential award-winning anti-bullying program, which has been outlined in this book.
Shanaya has been called upon to speak before tens of thousands of people, spreading the message that “bullies are all about power, this power is fake, and the real power is with the bystander and the victims.” Applying her deep understanding of the dynamics of bullying, she successfully averted several tragic child suicides through individual coaching.
Shanaya is the recipient of many awards, including one by President Barack Obama, Governor Rick Perry, and by her hometown of El Paso, Texas, which also proclaimed March 15, 2011, Shanaya Fastje Day.Homeschooled at her request since she was nine years old, Shanaya is now thirteen and has graduated high school. A talented musician, composer, and actress, she is currently writing her fifth book—her first fiction novel—in hopes for the possibility of adaption for film or television. She has recorded her first single and music video with aspirations for an album.
Shanaya now lives in Los Angeles, California, where she is further developing all areas of her career. Visit Shanaya at www.shanayafastje.com and on Facebook. “Like” her fan pages “The Bully in the Mirror” and “Shanaya Fastje Author” or follow Shanaya on Twitter @ShanayaFastje.
