Blue and the Battle of the Bird Seed

Blue the dog and his human friend Joey are getting ready to sit down and watch the birds, which turns out to be easier said than done. As other hungry backyard rascals come chirping and chattering along, Blue and Joey have to put all their skills to work saving the seed for the birds. A cute and quirky story about the interesting things going on right in front of your nose!

Bird watching in the back yard should be such a relaxing activity for a man and his dog. But as soon as Joey puts up the feeder, not only birds show up, but cats, and squirrels and... cute rats (yes, there is such a thing). A relaxing afternoon in the back yard turns into an adventure, stretching under ground and out to sea. All pages are illustrated in watercolor, pen, and gouache with a lot of detail.

Susanne Ohrvik is an artist, illustrator, translator, and writer with Swedish roots. She lives on Whidbey island in the Pacific Northwest where nature and wildlife is plentiful. Her first children's book about Blue will soon be followed by more stories.
