Overview

Written for counsellors, psychotherapists, mental-health practitioners and readers seeking a deeper understanding of depression and trauma recovery. I am questioning and shining a light on mental health, the system of diagnosis and approved treatments in particular for depression and trauma. In this book, I uncover some of the myths and mistruths fed to counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and the public alike by the alliance between the Mental model of mental health with the Pharmaceutical Industry that keeps a large proportion of the public trapped in the system, often for life. While the rate of mental illness is soaring, even though more money than ever is being spent on treatment. In this book myths that underpin accepted beliefs about mental illness are unveiled and how these influence treatment options. I cite I a range of crucial verified facts and neuroscience research present a profoundly different reality with a range of notable professional voices from around the world who are leaders in this field who present informed views to show that it doesn't have to be like this. I know I am not alone in what I say here. As a psychotherapist of over 25 years, in the book I share my experiences with clients and how this has informed my developments and innovations in this area. I present alternative theories and practice in a range of approaches for depression and trauma recovery, with case studies to remind practitioners and the public that they do have choices. I hold trainings and sessions in a new wave of psychotherapies that are brief, gentle and deeply effective in pointing to a better way of working with the mind, where recovery for many is a real option. I hold a vision that in the future more people with mental illness may access more effective, safe, and efficient interventions that are also brief, so they may experience more meaningful lives. About The Author

Yildiz born in England and living in Australia, has never been able to understand why the present mental health system is stuck in a time warp, in presenting 'best practice' to the public, while the numbers of diagnoses in mental illness continue to soar. She advocates for a shake up in the medical model in letting go of their basic belief, that once diagnosed, most individuals cannot recover. These are beliefs that are not backed by neuroscience research and neuroplasticity and very different to her experience with clients for the last twenty five years. Yildiz's life work has been to source and create more effective and efficient psychotherapies that make a difference to her clients. This has resulted in the founding of Emotional Mind Integration and Rapid Core Healing and PTIT Trauma recovery. She is also a Family Constellations practitioner and trainer working with relationships and generational patterns and trauma. Yildiz now specializes in brief, experiential, solution-focused psychotherapy, rather than working with understanding and managing symptoms of depression or PTSD, she works with their cause through neural pathways, briefly, deeply and safely in processing the disturbance or trauma in few sessions. Without re-traumatization. Yildiz offers online sessions and professional training to this who wish to join her on this path.
