Overview

First position, second position, third, fourth, fifth position were my warmup exercises as I got ready for my ballet class. I danced to the music of Florence Price, Scott Joplin, George Bridgetower, William Grant Still, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Ignatius Sancho, and Francis Johnson, all composers of African descent. I danced with such grace and poise; every movement celebrated my charm. What elegance, passion, balance, technique – plier, etendre, reliever, glisser, sauter, tourner.   Come, sit and enjoy this magical, exciting performance. Join me!
