About the author
Magda Zietsman is an award-winning educator and artist with more than 30 years of teaching experience. She has personally taught art to more than 12,000 students of various abilities, socio-economic backgrounds, and cultures. Her experience as both an elementary school teacher and an art teacher makes her uniquely qualified to understand the value of art in the development of a child. Her numerous successes in cultivating the creativity of children though art is well known amongst parents, teachers and administrators. Magda was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa and moved to the USA in 1997. She lives with her husband Joe who is the strategic advisor at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. They have two grown children - Alexander who works as an actuary in California for a major health insurance company and Maryshe who is a medical student at Baylor College of Medicine.
