An Artist in Love

Is falling in love wonderful? Lots of songs say it is. But for me, falling in love was one disaster after another. Now, decades later, as I retell those stories, they seem funny, a slice of human comedy. At the time they didn’t seem very hilarious, but maybe some comedy, or even all comedy, is rooted in misery. Reshaping past disappointments into comedy is a way to cope. Since I also wanted to be an artist, the stories include paintings and drawings which reflect various romantic disasters along with the other catastrophes that occurred simultaneously. I hope these stories give you a few laughs and some interesting pictures to look at.
