About the author
Ammini Aunty (Sara Joshua) was born in Kerala, India. She received her nursing education in Mumbai and moved to the US in the 70s. She retired as a nurse after a fulfilling 40-year career. Ammini Aunty has mentored and trained numerous nurses in that time. Known amongst her community for her delicious snacks and meals, she combined her love for cooking and teaching into a project that would help her children and grandchildren. She began hosting a YouTube channel – "Ammini Aunty's A Pinch of Kerala, to teach the next generation how to make traditional Kerala dishes in English to bridge the gap for people to connect to the South Indian culture. Her subscribers, affectionately called "Pinchers", continue to encourage, and support her to make more videos of her recipes by sharing their success stories and pictures with her. Now with over 1400 subscribers and counting, Ammini Aunty continues to be inspired by the stories of her Pinchers to keep making recipes that are simple, straightforward, and easy to follow and will help them create their own memories in the kitchen with their family and friends. Ammini Aunty is excited for the release of her first cookbook. With her family and Pinchers by her side, she is eager to see where the journey takes her.
