Overview
Ahimsa - is powerful, positive, peaceful and dynamic method of realizing this blessed place. In this study, we will examine the life of an amazing Godly man whose dedication both to a free India and non-violence produced one of the singular dramatic events in world history. Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869-1948), and his followers demonstrated the truth of this through their relentless yet peaceful attacks against the continued subjugation of India at the hands of the mighty British colonial empire. In the end, the Crown had to bow to the inevitable: there was no way that Britain could continue exploiting India now that she had awaken to her plight and were motivated to throw off her shackles by utilizing the Ahimsa method of Satyagraha which we will examine, infra. Indeed, the most remarkable aspect of Gandhi's movement was a firm commitment to non-violence. By doing so, he amplified to the entire world the essence of Ahimsa: that although his contention was with injustice, he neither hated his oppressors nor was willing to shed any blood. In this paper, my aim is to present and examine six fundamental precepts of Ahimsa as they apply to and are experienced in daily life.

Through Ahimsa, the Lord can work through each of us and collectively; a vast, radiant, formidable, faithful army of peace in action to serve Him joyfully every day. Together with others, we can forge a change from the ground up that cannot fail to alter the present greedy, godless political framework, ushering a new wave of Ahimsa-minded leaders who prioritize peace and meeting the needs of all people over war and economic profiteering. Once this occurs, the foreign policies of every country can easily undergo an equally dramatic transformation; wherein, instead of pursuing polices of self-aggrandizement, policies will seek to serve others, preserve resources, feed the hungry, help the jobless, house the homeless and witness to the churchless. Thus, when the lives of millions of individuals throughout the world become grounded in Ahimsa, a firm committal to peace and non-violence at all costs, then it's a mere question of mathematics: larger institutions –whether they be the churches, companies, communities or nations –will begin to reflect these values as well.
