About the author
Melissa Caribou Annen grew up in the Midwest and currently resides on the East Coast. She spent her formative years in a rural town surrounded by a largely blue collar community, of farmers, mechanics, and the like. Despite her love of her hometown and its spectacular natural beauty, she knew that she wanted more in life than the small town could provide. Her mother, a nurse, and her father, a postmaster, helped introduce new facets of the world to her by hosting numerous foreign exchange students who were studying abroad. Finding the first experience to be fascinating, they soon had hosted so many exchange students that their home became known to the community as the Annen International House. As Melissa grew older, she then set out to explore the urban settings of the Midwest and beyond, finally deciding that the East Coast the perfect combination of natural scenery and urban living. Her writing stems from life experiences, as well as a small obsession with the darker sides of things. As fittingly stated by a close friend,Miss Goody Two Shoes has a dark side. Other than writing, which is closely monitored by the two co-owners of her home (the four-legged furry duo, Will and Sophie), Melissa spends her time exploring new places, photographing old architecture, occasionally walking the beach with a margarita in hand, and enjoying time with good friends.
