Adventures of Pangaeus
by Ryan Smukowski

Overview

Ace Ikasame is a bounty hunter on the super-planet Pangaeus. He's just a regular citizen working at his job, until he's recruited and assigned the task of fixing the Dyson sphere—a machine that harnesses the power of the sun and provides all the power to support Pangaeus. For a reason he does not yet understand, he's the only one who can complete the job. After battling rogue machines, gods, monsters, invincible aliens, corrupt government leaders, kings, and more… will he survive the challenge and save Pangaeus? Or will he be defeated, resulting in all life being lost on the planet because of a permanent blackout? Only time will tell.

Description

Far in the future, a god of the stars named Tarak battled with Kronos, the lord of time. Kronos wished to absorb all the stars in the universe, rule all of existence, and enslave all beings. Tarak was blessed with the power to control the stars and planets themselves, making him the sole being that could stand toe-to-toe with Kronos. Using his full might, Tarak defeated Kronos and saved the universe. But not without a cost. During the battle, the solar system turned to rubble. Tarak knew that the only way to save the solar system was to merge all its planetary celestial bodies together, as separating them into multiple planets again would cause them to be far too unstable. He merged all of them together and created the super-planet Pangaeus. Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter created the atmosphere. Venus, Mars, Earth, and Mercury now had life thriving thanks to the oxygen in Pangaeus's atmosphere. Civilization had been restored. Pangaeus consisted of four sectors—Venus, Earth, Mars, Pluto, and Mercury—each with its own government. Tarak had also secretly hidden computers jam-packed with information to boost the people's technology. Now, bounty hunter Ace Ikasame has been recruited to fix the machine that harnesses the sun's power to support Pangaeus. Will he survive his quest? "The Dyson sphere is being attacked. Take out the enemy and repair the ship. If you do this efficiently and without dying, of course, I will pay you a pretty penny," he told me. "But the area around the Dyson sphere is over 5,500 degrees Celsius! I will burn to death!" I told him. "We've got you prepared. Weapons, supplies, and protection are all on us," he told me. "And why do you want me to do such a task?" I asked him. "You're the only one who can."

About the author

Ryan Smukowski is an average, twelve-year-old sixth grader. He likes to play video games, hang out and talk to his friends, go to school, ride his bike, and enjoy his life as a kid. He has read hundreds of books and watched movies, but he also loves to be creative and write stories. In the fifth grade, he started writing longer stories until he gained enough knowledge and support to write his first novel. He believes, "anyone can write a fiction book; all you must do is use your imagination, and that is what makes it special. Not your age, and not for the money you may get out of it." He wants people to dream big, not worry about what other people think, and be free from what they think they can or can't do.
