This pivotal moment was driven by her mother's battle with mental illness. Adopted Me is a book that draws from the author's own experience of foster care and adoption. She refers to her blended family as "bees" and wants to inspire others with empathy in the hope of becoming adoptive parents.

At the tender age of seven, Sonya Holton and her two sisters were welcomed into the loving home of Edna and Archie Holton. She pursued a degree in Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing a master's in education. Her work reflects her dedication to knowledge and her aspiration to inspire young minds. In addition to her academic pursuits, Sonya is working diligently on a Christian children's book series set to launch in the summer of 2024. Sonya's life story, from her adoption to her academic and creative achievements, made her a caring writer with a powerful message.
