A Trip Inside My Mind

Poems & Commentary

by Arthur Piccolo

Overview
My book is about my theory of what all poetry is stripped to its basic definition and meaning. No matter its form or content. Rhymed or not. Poetry is expressing yourself freed of the rigid rules of prose and sentence structure. We are all poets or should be, and in doing so we can express ourselves in powerful meaningful ways many of us never do. I prove my theory with the contents of my book in which I explore episodes in my own life in poetic form. I extend my theory further by recommending many if not all existing poets and their poems would be more informative, impactful, meaningful and reach a wider audience if many of them included a commentary in prose for each poem in which they tell the reader something about the poem itself, its relationship to their experiences or anything at all they wish to express to the reader to make their poem a fuller experience to appreciate as I do with the poems in my new book .

About the author
Arthur Piccolo has spent his life battling against convention and the Status Quo which he believes undermine much of our potential while creating rigid structures at every level of society which only benefit the few. Born and raised in Park Slope, Brooklyn, where he lives now, much of his activity is focused in Lower Manhattan and at Bowling Green where New York City was founded, and he famously is responsible for bringing Arturo DiModica's iconic world renowned and much loved sculpture "Charging Bull" to Bowling Green, where it now stands permanently. He has been very active as an advocate for Alexander Hamilton since 1988 and has written extensively about Hamilton's importance as the savior of the United States and a Father of Modern Capitalism. As a videographer he has produces hundreds of videos. Among his other achievements he has invented and patented a new team sport "Quadraball" currently in early stage development which will be the first team sport in history that will include a co-gender version. Who am I ? That is what this book is all about.
