Ray Goodburn is an ordained pastor who trained at Cambridge, England, where he met his wife. He served several parishes besides a post as a teacher of religious education. Having led parish groups, latterly he has worked with a leading pilgrimage tour operator organising and leading numerous groups. He has travelled to the Holy Land on more than thirty occasions.
