The poems reflect Andrew's love of Arizona and the desert as well as the ups and downs in his life including cancer, drug addiction, death, hope, love and rebirth. Andrew's brother Ned Gaines edited the poems. Artist Ken Steinnerd provided "The Offering" for the color cover artwork while Andrew's brother-in-law Brady Clifton provided interior black and white artwork. Cover design and book layout was provided by Mark Anthony Febbo.

About the author
Andrew Gaines is an author and musician who has been playing music and writing since the age of twelve. He is the author of the poem book "From the Inside", published in 2012, and the writer-producer of the album "Killdozer", released in 2021. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and has lived many places throughout the country including Flagstaff, AZ, Eugene, OR and Minneapolis, MN. Andrew has worked in a number of different fields including construction, mining, transportation, non-profit and customer service. Andrew continues to write songs, poems and short stories from his home in Phoenix, Arizona.
