Millicent Brown seems to have it all: a career she loves, all the money she will ever need, good friends and a beautiful home. Now with time on her hands recovering from surgery, Milli sorts through her stash of old photographs, dredging up long forgotten nightmares of her childhood traumas and memories of her failed marriage. But Milli was seriously neglected as a child, orphaned in her teens and divorced before she hit thirty. Now she begins to tell her story as she recovers from back surgery. Milli intends to use this down time to sort through her lifetime stash of photographs. She becomes overwhelmed at how the pictures dredge up long-forgotten nightmares of her childhood and her failed marriage. In addition, her medical recovery fails to progress as she expected, and Milli begins to spiral out of control. She realizes that her cherished career as a bedside nurse may not be salvageable. The reader is left to wonder if Millie can find the inner strength to stop and call, "Overs!" A good read for those who enjoy delving into the realm of the human condition. Vicki StClair worked in many roles as a registered nurse in Colorado, including delivering babies, patient teaching and recruiting and managing nurses. She is also a court-appointed special advocate (CASA) for kids who find themselves caught up in the family court system. Overs! draws on her rich and specialized background in both of her career areas. She received her master's degree in adult education from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. This is her first novel.
