It is 1990 in Garland, Texas, a seemingly commonplace for boys and girls who are just coming-of-age. Being a 'Skater' in Texas was already taboo and looked down upon, but this fits him, as he wants to be set apart; he wants to take his own path. In his subculture, Corey finds a world that is both blissful and tragic.

No Take Backs is a coming-of-age story of a 15-year-old teenage boy that feels isolated and misunderstood. Corey sees the world from a skewed point of view and succumbs to depression, unaware.  He's too young to make sense of the ever-encroaching hopelessness and refers to it as 'The Darkness.'  Corey has grown accustomed to neglect and is left to his own devices, justifying the introspective rationale of his world view.

          Through Corey's story, you see him find and lose his first Love and witness as he becomes engulfed amid inflammatory drama and peer pressures, mostly through his best friend. The real battle for Corey is deciding and knowing when to ask for help or just accepting the immediate consequences of ill-made decisions.
