Overview
From early childhood growing up in a southern city, to college, the Navy, law school and tax school, marriage, family, and growing older, Neal and Melinda's adventures in life will keep you laughing and engaged from cover to cover. Life is like a roll of toilet paper Neal says. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.
Description
Neal's adventures began in the winter of 1948 when he was introduced in the world at Wilson Hospital in Haleyville, Alabama, as a whopping 9 pound, 9 ounce bundle of joy. His adventures had just begun. Later finding his roots in Birmingham, Alabama, this book follows over seventy years of humorous encounters in his life beginning in elementary school, his time at Shades Valley High School, his escape to Auburn University, and going from frat boy to an officer in the Navy just six days later. Neal outlines his life as a lawyer, finding humor in a profession that is hard to find. He finds the lighter side of his marriage to his beautiful maiden, Melinda, and their four children, and takes you through Melinda's role in Auburn University's first women's volleyball team, the first women's organized sport to play in the State of Alabama. Neal tells how he first knew he was getting old when a beautiful lady in a silver sequined dress crossed the room and headed directly to him only to tell him his shoes were untied and she was afraid he would fall and hurt himself. And, there are many others. Overriding all of the stories in this book is the spirit of living every day to the fullest knowing that your frisbee could land on the roof at any time.
