This novel is about a true crime that takes place the first year a new sheriff has been elected. Elected for three terms of four years each. The sheriff's wife causes the crime, the sheriff goes onto be elected three terms, twelve years in office. This cold case was hidden for more than forty years. However there was a witness to the aftermaths of murder and the fatal night in question. It was the sheriff's fifteen year old daughter, but no one asked her in 1973. Now she can tell everything that puts all those horrors to be heard in the open. A new day dawns.

The murder was swept under the county carpet never to be looked upon again. The deputy sheriff relentlessly sought the sheriff's only daughter to find out what she knew. Years later this cold case would be turned over to federal agents, hoping to shed some light for the victim in closure. This cold case is this October 27th, 2019 forty-six years old. The domestic violence that this daughter suffered for too many years came unduly upon her. The sheriff's wife became evil and brutal. after the murder and night in question. Sometimes enlightenment comes after decades of damage allowing one to remember repressed years of memories. The fifteen year old sheriff's daughter sitting at the top of the stairway would indeed like to come down the stairs and safely walk out the front door of the 1880 built county sheriff's house.
