Roy and Wendy Bauchman had a marriage that was the envy of all of their friends. If you asked them why they had such a good marrige they would answer that it was because they each put God first, but when Wendy was diagnosed with a cererbral aneurysm and had to have brain surgery to have it clipped Roy's faith was shaken. While Wendy was in intensive care she had a stroke and her brain started swelling. On the fourteenth anniversary of their first date the doctors told Roy that Wendy had only twelve to twenty four hours to live. Roy was shaken to his core. How could God let this happen?

When Roy Bauchman was told by the doctors that his wife, Wendy, only had twelve to twenty four hours to live all of his emotional defenses came into play . He was transformed from the steadfast, faithful husband that Wendy had known to a man that questioned his faith in God. He became emotionally vunerable and found himself attracted to one of the employees that worked at the hospital where his wife was being cared for. He wrestled with his thoughts and emotions until a hospital chaplain found a very clever way to restore his integrity.
