About the author
A. J. Clements is the author of a historical romance novel. In recounting her grandparents journey through life, A. J. Clements was inspired to create a compelling historical fiction novel with a twist of mystery and everlasting love. She spent time writing during her travels on ships, in trains, from excursions in Ireland to destinations in Europe. Her adventurous spirit awakens while beach-combing or sailing the waterways in eastern North Carolina. Inspired by her Irish grandparents, she awakens the story of immigration motivated by love. Her family saga begins in Ireland and flourished in Upstate New York where her grandparents purchased the Avonvale mansion which stands today. In her youth, A. J. Clements spent holidays trekking through the rolling fields, horseback riding and ice skating over creeks on the Avonvale estate with her family. Her Irish grandmother would share stories about life at Avonvale. The equestrian life was established early in Andrea's character as she grew up where surrounding communities pride was centralized around horse farms. Into adulthood, she was eventually asked to participate as a jump judge at cross-county events. Building a life together in a horse farm community became a focus in her story telling. Currently, A. J. Clements is a member of these creative organizations including the North Carolina Writer's Network, Webb Writer's Critique group, Neuse River Artists and GreaterGoodGallery of New Bern, N.C. She also edited and appeared in "A Brief History of Artists in Eastern North Carolina". Andrea holds a dual Irish/American citizenship in honor to her Irish grandparents. She lives and writes in historic New Bern, N.C. where she also enjoys sailing when the heat index allows. Avonvale is her debut novel.
