About the author

I have been reading and writing poetry since high school, however, it was until the late 1990's when I really began to take it seriously. Al Young, Carl Sandburg, and E.E. Cummings are just a few of my influences and favorite authors regarding style, content, and over all word picture they create. When I began thinking of publishing a book it was centered around photography or crime and police dramas like John Sanford's 'Prey' series. During this time I was still an active police officer in Washington, D.C. and I thought I had fresh or original stories to tell. Happily I found my niche with poetry and I plan on another compilation of poetry which marries my photography with other works. I am retired from law enforcement and I am currently working within the space industry. I divide my time between my teenage children, work, writing, and photography.

Description

This book is a man's journey through courtship, marriage, kids, rejection, divorce, and the joy/pain throughout a 19 year relationship expressed in poetic form. What began as a compilation of love poems for an anniversary became the catalyst for a poetic autobiography of sorts which sums the authors love and pain for the one woman he loved and lost. The book also pays tribute to the authors mother (in photographic form), who has since passed away, but was present shortly after the birth of the authors children.
