Science, magic, and spirituality clash in the futuristic Akina City, where technology is roughly 20 years ahead of the rest of the world and taking up roughly 1/4 of Japan. As if that weren't something out of the ordinary, the scientists there had discovered a unique protein in the human body named "Laminin" that grants the user an ability such as pyrokinesis or flight when activated. Upon this discovery, the Japanese government created a level system to gauge the potency of an ability from Level 1 to Level 7. They also established three categories that people were placed in depending on what their ability was: Scientist—Those of the Reality, Magist—Those of the Mind, and Spiritualist—Those of the Heart and Dreams. Enter 16 year old Hikaru Shizuka, who has been accepted into Hoshino Academy: a prestigious high school with a heavy focus on furthering the development of the abilities of its students. There's only one problem: Hikaru is a Level 0. Without powers and picked on for so long, Hikaru hopes that his acceptance into the new school and trying his best will make things change for good. This special protein, much like Akina City, holds many secrets as well as untapped potential. For when Laminin is activated in the human body, it grants the person an ability, such as pyrokinesis or flight. Angel Espada is a college student who has been writing stories he could imagine since he was five years old. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. Having studied about psychology, communication and other cultures, as well as four years of learning French and two years of Japanese, he enjoys expanding his horizons and learning about others. A Parapsychic Full Moon is the first light novel series he is writing. Angel has been planning this story since he was a freshman in high school. He has also studied various martial arts and believes that empathy is key to human beings communicating and understanding one another.
