3. The Tale of HiberNation, the Odd Chipmunk

The Tale of HiberNation, the Odd Chipmunk tells of the feelings we all have experienced in getting to know life, and being accepted in our world. Generally all turns out fine. This was not the case for HiberNation, however, a little chipmunk who was shunned and made fun, laughed at, and called names by the members of his chipmunk community. He was considered different and odd, because...he slept too much. Day and night, in school or at home, HiberNation slept. He slept even more when his feelings were hurt. He refused to go to school because of how he was mistreated. Lonely and friendless, HiberNation became very depressed. But, alas, life always has a perfect answer, and the answer for HiberNation's problem can be found in this chaming tale, one critics have compared to "classics," as well as the beloved Aesop's Fables.

The Tale of HiberNation, the Odd Chipmunk deals with problems encountered in life due to one being "different." This was the case of HiberNation, a chipmunk who was shunned and laughed at becuase of his habit of sleeping almost all of the time. Becoming lonely and depressed, HiberNation started to withdraw from the the world. He started to hate school. He didn't want to participate in any activities. But, life, being life, came to his assistance as an answer to his problems. Touted as a "classic for the modern age," as well as being compared to Aesop's Fables, the series will be much enjoyed.

Silvija Lechowick nee Robeznieks, was born in Latvia, but emigrated with her family to the USA after WWII. She is a graduate of Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Silvija worked as a psychiatric social worker, until she retired to help raise two daughters. Presenlty she lives in NE Ohio, with 4 beautiful grandchildren in the vicinity. In-house residents also include 6 semi-feral cats, and one Shepherd. Silvija loves studying life, and all the ironic little twists that can be observed. She has combined her observations, added some scientific facts, and hopes that the combination continues to be enjoyed by both young and old.
