About the author
I’m an international and award-winning speaker others call, “The Ultimate Book Coach”. You can call me Kristen. I’m a book-loving, chocolate-eating, stuffed animal-hugging, people-craving gal who cannot imagine a life without books. I started writing when I was five years old and read my first “adult” level novel when I was nine. My need for books is as great as my need for food. In 2003 I served as the Marketing Director for a vanity publishing company that featured a traditional publishing arm. I learned the ins and outs of vanity, subsidy and traditional publishing – what to look for, what to avoid and how to make sure authors don’t get ripped off. I also published two of my own books in less than a year. When I left that company, my husband and I co-founded Imagine! Studios, LLC, an art and media production company. We soon began publishing authors’ books again under our own label, and I published another book of my own. A relocation caused us to hand that portion of our business off to another capable publisher and I began my next role in the world of publishing as a consultant. In 2009 I wrote my fourth book in 3 1/2 days (find out how) and in early 2011 I wrote and published 21 Ways to Write and Publish Your Non-Fiction Book and 21 Ways to Powerfully Network Your Business, the first two books in a large series of “no fluff”, to-the-point guidebooks. My writing and publishing team consists of almost 20 people dedicated to my authors’ success. My reputation is to “suck” books out of people’s heads and get them into print through “Ghost Publishing”, a term I coined to define how my exclusive done-for-you Indie publishing programs work. Through the course of my publishing life, I have helped dozens of authors independently publish and several have been traditionally published as a direct result of going through my program. My favorite thing in the world is to see YOU hug your book for the very first time! That is, next to chocolate for breakfast.
